Your Canine's Sense of Smell
A much larger part of a dog’s brain is devoted to processing smells than yours. Some search dogs locate people buried under the snow of avalanches, search for evidence in crime, and find people in the water. Cloudy days, mornings, and evenings are the best times for dogs to search. And depending on the conditions, dogs can pick up a scent up to a half a mile away!

How Are Dog Fed While Being Boarded in a Kennel?
Dogs need routine, and many dogs can’t tolerate an abrupt
change in food: they get finicky, refuse to eat or overeat
like crazy, or they just get sick. While you’re looking at
kennels, find out what kind of dog chow they serve, and
either make arrangements to bring your dog’s food along, or
gradually get your dog used to the new food by first mixing
it little by little with his current chow, then reducing the
current chow a bit each meal until he’s weaned onto the new
